[Blender FBX] Fix Warped Humanoid Animations
Under Audit
Unity 2022.3.x - Unity 6.x
Published Mon, Mar 23
Animations exported from Blender as FBX files appear corrupted or "messed up" in Unity after applying a humanoid rig.
When importing FBX animations created in Blender, they initially appear correct within the project. However, upon applying the humanoid rig to the imported model in Unity, the animations become distorted or incorrect. This problem manifests after the initial correct import, specifically when the humanoid rig is configured for the character.
- Ensure the FBX export settings in Blender are configured correctly for
Unity, particularly regarding scaling, animation baking, and armature options. - Verify the avatar definition in
Unity’sRigtab for the imported FBX, ensuring mapping is accurate and any T-pose enforcement is suitable. - Check for potential bone scale issues or root motion conflicts in the animation clips after applying the humanoid rig.
